Registration Open Soon!!!!
The Charlie Norwood VAMC, Camp Twin Lakes, and PVA Southeastern Chapter partnered together to set out on its adaptive Sports, Outdoor Adventure, and Recreation (SOAR) program at Camp Will-A-Way in Winder, GA. Also, SEPVA would like to acknowledge and thank the following organizations: Band of Brothers, Community Foundation of the CSRA, Marine Corps League Riverfront Detachment 1132, and the Pilot Club of the CSRA for their support over the years.
Camp SOAR goal is to improve the quality of life of paralyzed veterans and other persons with disabilities by assisting the expansion of both the quality and quantity of opportunities in sports and recreation. Another spectacular Camp!
Over 37 Veterans with SCI/D and 10 Caregivers participated in this specially coordinated experience. Events included: Zip Lining, Virtual Reality, Motor Rally, Para Cord Bracelet Making, Fishing, Exercise Group, Leisure Education, Archery, Corn Hole, Pickle Ball, Movie Night, Karaoke Night, Camp Fire, Kayaking, Paddle Boats and Cook Out. Veterans and caregivers were able to network with other campers, enjoy the activities, as well as explore new activities to increase their awareness of the many opportunities that are available to people with SCI/D.
