Ft. Gordon “Christmas House” 13th Annual Toy Run
December 2, 2012

This year’s Toy Run drew over 220 motorcycles in the CSRA. The ride started at the Augusta History Museum and ending at the SEPVA Chapter building where riders dropped of hunreds of toys and then shared their Christmas spirit and socialized with coffee, cookies, and homemade chicken soup.

The Ft. Gordon’s Christmas House ensures a traditional holiday celebration for those military families unable to provide their own. Through today’s ride, we were able to assist in providing toys to aide 300 families this year. Thank you to all of those who came out to the ride and donated their time, talents and toys!

What fun we had!

Fisher House, Augusta GA
May 10, 2012

The Augusta Fisher House opened in 2011, serving as “a home away from home” for families  while their loved one is going through long-term rehabilitation programs, such as traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and blind rehab. Though the house itself was fully ready to service families, and the landscape had been installed to create a comfortable retreat, there seemed to be something lacking. This is where Southeastern PVA came in action.

SEPVA has donated two wooden yard swings, compliments of Homer Cole’s craftsmanship, to the Augusta Fisher House.  With the assistance of volunteers, the swings were put into place on Thursday, May 10, 2012.   Just in time to enjoy the Spring evenings!
